07:33 AM ET 12.18 | Tick-tock. Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner has not yet practiced for the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, which is less than two weeks away. Gardner, who has turf toe on his left foot and has been in a boot and at times using crutches, did not practice Monday. ... [Gardner] can put some pressure on the foot. "He's thrown the ball a little bit, but we haven't done a whole lot," Michigan coach Brady Hoke said Monday. "(We) don't want to get him out there too soon. It's more than anything making sure he's totally healthy. He's into the game plans and things like that." Hoke has not ruled Gardner out of practicing this week. The team has a final practice here on Saturday before heading to Tempe, Ariz., to continue preparations all next week for the bowl game against Kansas State on Dec. 28.

It may be baptism by fire for Shane Morris...!

If Gardner is a no-go, who's the likely backup? Morris? Cleary?

I would think they could win with their back up. K-State is more mildcat than wildcat this year.

LOL.....kinda like the rest of the team.

Hoke has indicated it will be Morris if Gardner can't play. Also, Hoke said several players are exploring their NFL options. He would not say Gardner was one of them, but he did not deny it, either.

If Gardner can't go they may as well start Shane Morris. Highly recruited QB from Mich. (a lefty I believe) and they already used his red shirt this year. Get ready for 2014.

How is this news? After the OSU game, Hoke said he wasn't going to practice Gardner for 2-3 weeks so that it could heal? Here we sit 2 weeks after the game and shockingly enough he isn't practicing?

Yes Morris is a lefty, and you never know about redshirts and mystery injuries that occur, just look at Gardner, he played his first 3 years but they said he had a bad back and he got his red shirt.

Meeeechigan!

Don't underestimate the Wild Kittens in a Bowl game. Morris will need to step up for the Angry Weasels to win. I do not have confidence that they will win. This game is not an "easy pick."

If Gardner can't go picking Kansas St. is even easier.

For the love of all things holy please tell us Gardner isn't the QB next season.

So tired of the whining . . . let the team and QB grow.

So many under the illusion that they're still building from 1997 or 2006. Team (especially defense) was depleted 2008 through 2010 and the Sugar Bowl win in 2011 was not what it appeared (due to cosmic alignment).

Michigan has a LONG way to go and Shane Morris would not have helped one bit this year.

The only way morris helps this year is by gaining experience, that would be it. Him practicing with first team during bowl practice isnt going to hurt tho.
