07:37 AM ET 12.18 | Now, quite officially, the Blue Jackets are without their seasoned tough guy. [Right wing] Jared Boll underwent surgery to repair a torn tendon in his left ankle [Tuesday] and will miss three to four more months. Boll, the club's longest-tenured player and its fourth-line enforcer, suffered the injury on Nov. 22 during a loss at Vancouver and has missed all 11 games since. He could miss the remainder of the season, although general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said he was hopeful Boll would return during the regular season. ... The loss of Boll will leave the Jackets without their most accomplished and experienced pugilist. Boll, 6-3 and 214 pounds, was willing and able to take on all comers. Kekalainen said his club will fill that hole with "team toughness," as it has done in the past.

Well there goes their chances of being in the top of the League for, as we have learned this past week, the very important stat of Fighting Majors.

Absolutely! They are going to lose a bunch of games without those staged fights.

First Parros, now Boll!? What's next the Florida Panthers go on a Canadian road trip and look like Cup contenders?

December 18, 2013  09:51 AM ET

So that's why they lost to the Jets...

Not hard to accomplish when they play the Flames and Oilers.

Make it stop. :(

If we all get into our pjs and sit quietly on the floor around the fireplace will you tell us the story about the great Clarkson signing again?

It's an early Christmas present for me so if you don't mind I'm going to play with it for a while.

No it's extra large.

QUOTE(#14):

I think a new coach could light a fire. If you need any proof, Mason Raymond, the third-highest scorer on the team, started last night on the fourth line. Randy has no idea how to get an offence going or how to game-manage (Bylsma schooled him in that regard on Monday). If Nonis gives a damn about this season, Randy's gone either today or after the holidays (I could see the NHL backhanding the Leafs into waiting until the HBO cameras are gone).

I'd love to watch him get fired on TV but I like him just where is. Also I hope Little Davey signs Mrs. Pinch (a beauty on last night's first goal) before he sees many more -2 evenings from the pylon.

Would you settle for:

Fired, then rehired quietly and walks out to the bench after the rehire wearing a brown paper bag to surprise the fans when he comes back?

(another dark day in Leafs history)

Well, Dreger said it's almost done, and since he's Nonis' cousin i'm taking his word for it that your wish is going to come true.

Maybe they'll announce the contract extension on Christmas. Worked out great last time, right?

Maybe they can get PM to announce it. "It's a double (what he's worth) Dion."

And I don't even have to click on the link. Merry Christmas Ronnie. LOL
