Despite start, Stempniak still in the doghouse?

07:40 AM ET 12.18 | Tuesday was no easy day in the life for Lee Stempniak. All indications at the morning skate were the Calgary Flames right-winger would be a surprise healthy scratch for Tuesday's battle with the Boston Bruins at TD Bank Garden, but with Michael Cammalleri stuck at the team hotel with flu-like symptoms, Stempniak was instead working on the top line and was even on the ice for the opening faceoff. ... Asked after Tuesday's morning skate about the possibility Stempniak would watch from the press-box in Boston, [Bob Hartley] -- without naming names -- made it clear that no spots were guaranteed. "It's the same rule for everyone -- we've said it all along that," Hartley said. "While it is a rebuild, it's important for us to set a very clear message on the culture that we want to instill."

Isn't the doghouse the place where Burke spends his evenings just to get his hair right?

Big-boy blurt of the week.

About the Wilson thing, and the 500 or so other incidents so far this year - don't know what any of these guys are actually trying to prove, but the blame definitely falls at the feet of some coaches, some gms and some owners - cleaning it up means leaning on these guys too - and proving to them all (Battdung included), that having alot of powerplays is boring, and really disruptive to the flow of the game - to the point of almost generally deciding outcomes. This tends to leave fans feeling cheated one way or another, and is reflected in lower gate-takings.

put down what your smoking and clear your burning eyes of the smoke. Your theory implies that Buttgoblin thinks scoring is boring. When in fact, the recent changes brought to the game by him and his owners (no red-line, trapezoid, OT skills comp etc etc.) and Im sure ratified by the NHLPA are for the masses not the hockey purist.

My Lads hold the mighty Bruins to 2 goals on the road but cannot score even one for themselves. I love/hate/like/cannot stand/suffer /enjoy being a fan so very much.

Alot more masses per capita north of the border might not agree - yet all of these 'changes for the better' have led us to exactly where we are today, in a vain attempt to get a bunch of people that prefer WWE, NASCAR, and perhaps, even baseball and basketball, to become more interested in hockey. Don't see where having more player's heads torn off, and subsequent powerplays that decide games, makes this sport more interesting. More interesting would be eliminating the trap, or, preventing players throwing their bodies at other players, or ever increasingly 'dangerously' in front of shots, by sensibly limiting the type and amount of padding and protection that they can wear - something which does present itself as an impact danger in any sport with a high degree of 'body' contact.

I watched the Grand Rapids, 'here you take it', ' no you take it', Wings play last night, so I think I understand some.
