Artest destined for Knicks?

Ron Artest, a Queensbridge product, will likely opt out and become a free agent and the Knicks can offer him the five-year, $30 million mid-level exception as a free agent. But who knows who will be the GM and coach? Isiah Thomas loves Artest and at one point last summer thought his addition could lead the Knicks to winning the East. The Artest camp prefers the Knicks try to work a sign-and-trade with the Kings this July. But if not, the five-year mid-level could work if no other team is offering Artest a long-term contract.

This guy should have been a Knick to begin with. Scott Layden will always be synonymous with the words: Fredric Weis.

The Knicks deserve Artest. Firearms will become mandatory in their locker rooms.... if a player wants to live that is.

He will fit right in!

Ah, Frederic Weis, the recipient of the Eat My Shorts dunk. I couldn't stand Layden, buy Ed Tapscott was the numbskull who picked The Big Croissant.

I forgot all about Ed Tapscott. Thanks for the correction.

there's another big guy that Nate Robinson could pick a fight with..

February 22, 2008  01:27 PM ET

Nate Robinson would have made the worst mistake of his life messing with this lunatic...Hate to see poor Nate go through the rest of his days with a size 15 pair of Converse hanging out of his butt...

I'm trying to read what Hombre Lobos typed but I can't. Too many errors.

February 22, 2008  03:29 PM ET

Nate's a fighter. That's one thing I will grant him.

February 22, 2008  04:25 PM ET

Nate may love to fight, but basic human reasoning would kick in once he looks Artest in the eyes and realizes something is not quite right there....
