04:49 PM ET 12.18 | The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking at their roster during the offseason after another disappointing season, which could lead to many notable veterans being released. One of those players that could be on the chopping block appears to be linebacker LaMarr Woodley. On Tuesday, the team placed Woodley on the injured reserve list and now his future is in doubt. According to reports, Woodley could be released this offseason in order to save some cap room and turn to cheaper, more effective talent.

According to Peter King, the Steelers will have 2/3rds of their cap next year locked into just seven friggin players. That's worse than anyone, including Dallas' estimated 30 million over the cap.

Something has gotta give.

Insane.

Can't believe somebody out-Jerry'd Jerry. Seriously, how do teams let their cap situations get this dire...

Jerry Jones reminds me of the Joker from the movie "The Dark Knight".

To quote Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning performance, "Do I look like somebody with a plan?"

Fat, lazy, and hurt all the time...yeah he will be missed...

A lot of aging heroes from a lot of teams will be cut! That's the way it is! One of these days they will instituted my Veteran Rule! Which is, each team gets to keep 3 aging veterans , only 50% of their salary goes against the cap! This way, you get a chance to say good bye to that local Legand!
That's why I'm The Gweeed!!!

Cry me a freaking river.

Polamalu and Keisel will probably join him come seasons end.

December 19, 2013  11:30 AM ET

not Polamalu. He's still an elite safety. Just look how much better the Steeler defense is when he plays.

December 19, 2013  01:23 PM ET

Given this year's performance, the Steelers might want to cut the entire team and start all over.

Remember when Troy, and Lamarr Woodley were considered the new, and cheaper guys to get the salary cap in order...
Now it's their turn to be replaced.
That's life in the NFL,
Be productive, or Have a friendly contract; If not You're replaceable!

Keisel's up there in age. He should join up with the Duck Dynasty folks.

December 22, 2013  09:26 AM ET

Great when he plays the problem the last 3 seasons is he's rarely healthy enough to play.

I think Keisel's contract is up so he just won't be brought back unless he takes a hugh pay cut to keep playing.
