04:43 PM ET 12.19 | The Detroit Lions are in danger of missing the postseason, which many believe could lead to the firing of head coach Jim Schwartz. Since news that Schwartz's job could be in danger surfaced, there have been players coming out to defend their head coach. The latest player to do so is running back Reggie Bush, who blames a lack of discipline for the team's mistakes. While a lack of discipline would usually point to the coach and that has been a big criticism of Schwartz since he took over the team, Bush does not think that Schwartz is the problem.

Reggie's smart enough to know throwing Schwartz under bus isn't a good idea... yet.

The players can say all the right things, but what happens on the field tells the story and has been telling the same story for years. Schwartz did elevate the team from the 0-16 nightmare, but they need to move on with a coach who will hold players accountable for what happens on the field and will guide them into the playoffs.

That's a very "team" oriented thing to say. However, when the coach himself is always pushing the envelope and his team clearly emulates that behavior, who should be blamed.

You do what you don't get punished for doing.
