07:36 AM ET 12.20 | Not so fast? The Orioles had planned to introduce new closer Grant Balfour during a press conference Friday morning, but the club's two-year, $15 million deal with Balfour may be in jeopardy because of something found during the player's physical, according to an industry source. The source wouldn't go as far to say the deal is in "serious jeopardy," but Friday's press conference has been postponed for now. The Orioles agreed to terms with Balfour on Tuesday, pending a physical, but if the deal falls through, the Orioles would have to reset their pursuit of another closer to replace Jim Johnson in a shrinking free-agent market. During last week's winter meetings, the Orioles focused on Balfour exclusively before the club made offers to other closing candidates. A third guaranteed year became a sticking point.
