06:13 PM ET 12.20 | NASCAR phenom Kyle Larson is preparing for a rookie Sprint Cup campaign in 2014, where he will have the opportunity to show the world why he is being considered the sport's next superstar. Many have said that Larson can be the next Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart, and the 21-year-old up-and-comer is ready to prove himself on the track and show that he can live up to the hype. While Larson is trying his best to ignore the hype that is surrounding him, he is excited for the opportunity to show what he can do. Larson will be replacing the Juan Pablo Montoya in the No. 42 Target Chevrolet for Chip Ganassi, who signed the youngster to a developmental deal back in 2012. It will be interesting to see how Larson does out on the track with the step up in competition, but you can be sure that many will be watching as he fights to become the Rookie of the Year.

Make it a New Year's resolution to come up with a better pitch-line.. the 'step' relative angle as gotten old

Amen Bro!

Although the story was long on hype and lacking in details. What has the kid won, I haven't heard of him before.

But then I don't watch the feeder series...

He isn't going to become "the next Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart" driving for EGR. Besides, the "next Jeff Gordon" (literally...will be driving his car with his team) is Chase Elliott.

From Jayski --NASCAR changes spoiler height for Daytona: NASCAR tweeted Monday afternoon that they have altered the spoiler size that teams will use February in Daytona.
"NASCAR notified Sprint Cup teams today that the spoiler size for the January DIS test and the 2014 Daytona 500 event week, including the Sprint Unlimited, will be 4.5 inches tall. This is .5 inches taller than previously. NASCAR says the taller spoiler size should allow for a little more rear down force which should make the cars a little more stable."(12-24-2013)
