Lopez too brittle to lead

07:37 AM ET 12.23 | None other than Paul Pierce himself, after his acquisition, declared the Nets as "Brook Lopez's team." Only with Lopez, it went this way: ".. if he ever stays healthy." That always has been the trick with Lopez. ... This is the third injury to the same foot, and one thing we've discovered through the years in the NBA: That kind of stuff doesn't just disappear thanks to good wishes and good intentions. Lopez's attitude always has been exceptional. Even after the moment when he apparently hurt himself Friday night in Philadelphia, he not only stayed in the game, he played through overtime, too. On a broken foot. Whatever marks you've checked off against him in the past, "soft" no longer should apply. Although "brittle" is still certainly still in play.

Damn, kyrie is like Lou Gehrig compared to the way players are dropping

Knicks own Brook Lopez cannot be a franchise player. He is the Yao Ming of the Nets. He'll have the same injury throughout his career. It must be a big man's illness...

Sorry to hear about his injury; very unfortunate.

So glad Orlando avoided Lopez and Bynum when they moved Howard.

When Chandler went down, Knicks folded like Foster kids. Lets see if Nets will pack it in or put up a fight like real men. The possibility of no playoffs in the big apple is looking more real than ever.

In Blatche we trust?

I think we were the only ones on this site who felt Orlando got a better deal with picks and without Bynum or Lopez.

Especially the Nets. The two young guys that were supposed to be their stars have been hurt a lot. No way the Nets will do anything without a healthy DWill and Lopez.
