07:41 AM ET 12.23 | Can Scott Boras make a market for two clients in Queens? [Boras] is talking and the Mets, to some extent, are listening. The super-agent is still looking to land deals for shortstop Stephen Drew and first baseman Kendrys Morales, who are both free agents. While several in the Mets organization declined to comment on a report that Boras had approached the Mets about both players, an industry source said the Mets haven't ruled out anything. While it is unlikely either Drew or Morales will be in the Mets' Opening Day lineup, the source said the team is continuing to listen and pursue all options to improve the team. And with the offseason growing more and more settled, Boras is running out of options with Drew, and particularly Morales.

I'm starting to get the feeling Drew will be back in Boston next year.

I agree, on a 2 year deal. Boston will overpay to keep it at 2 years, but they won't lose a draft pick.

Yes. I really think the draft pick compensation is killing Drew's chances of signing elsewhere.Teams look at a guy like Michael Wacha, who the Cards drafted with the pick they got for losing Pujols, and think, "We can't lose that pick." Truth is, there are few Wachas.

Mike Trout was aslo a compensation pick.

I agree with both of you a lot of money to pay just for a glove man and lose a draft pick, and Morales will probably end back up in the AL as a first baseman and DH taking less money for a job next year since he turned down a qualifying off from the Mariners at 14 mill.

No, don't bog the Mets down with trash contracts. Let Boros eat some crow this year

December 23, 2013  10:22 AM ET

Think about it, morales, a $5mil guy at best, turns down a 14mil contract, that's $14mil per year. Now he'd be lucky to get a 3yr - $14mil offer and Boras is out hustling. Do we really need a guy that stupid on our team? Seattle offered him a gift and he walked. Stupid!

Funny... It was reported that Boras (on behalf of Choo) rejected the Yankees offer in favor of Texas, due to the issue of state tax. Now, he's pursuing a contract with the other New York team on behalf of not one, but two players. *smh* Dude should just purchase a dairy farm... Then he can stop pretending to sell "bullchips" and just go all in. Likewise, he should consider a new spelling for his last name... Perhaps Boreass, because of how he screws his clients or Boorass, because he's pushy and obnoxious. Seriously... Leave it to this guy to make Jay-Z look like a real agent.

those draft pick are killing every free agent now days, plus the teams WHO are interested on any free agent aren't too convenced in giving up top draft pick!!
as hard as it is the Angels would benefit in great deal if,,they could sign Kendris Morales then again the draft pick its a terrible obstakle!!

I do think Boras is trying to double-sell Kendrys and Drew to the same team, opining that if you lose one pick, you might as well lose two. I doubt it will work.

its not going to work,,trust me in this one!!

Mets have no astronauts.

Both Davis and Tejada don' t want to play for Terry, Sandy and The Mets! No has done more damage to young players than the Mets, you can start with them and end with Harvey!

Drew is far from "just a glove man"
