Gaborik on the outs for Team Slovakia

07:50 AM ET 12.23 | Somewhat indicative of the way things are going in Columbus, the Blue Jackets' optional skate in Nationwide Arena was sparsely attended by injured players and healthy scratches. The rest of the group either stayed home to sleep and rest, or came to the rink to treat injuries. "I've never been a part of team that been like this with the injuries," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "Every team has them. Some teams are worse than others. I've never seen something like this, though, no." It continued in Saturday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia. Right wing Marian Gaborik suffered a broken left collarbone only four shifts into his return from a knee sprain that cost him 17 games. Ugh. He's out six to eight weeks, which means he probably won't be able to represent Slovakia in the Olympics.

I still fully expect a Slovakia vs Russia final. With the Slovaks humbling the mighty Swedes and the Russians swatting the pesky Finns. Yup, N-Am teams need not apply.

I love when Ralphies brother is so bundled up with scarves and sweaters that he falls down and cannot get up. Is it wrong at Christmas time to laugh at a child helplessly flopping around in the snow ?

The kids and I were talking about this the other day.

My wife would bundle them up when they were little that when i pushed them over in the snow it would take 5 minutes for them to get up. I mean snow suit, multiple scarves, two sets of gloves, boots, tshirt, thermal and sweatshirt underneath......
