05:20 PM ET 12.23 | There is still one week remaining in the 2013-14 NFL regular season and a number of teams have already been eliminated from playoff contention. For the teams that are already looking to the offseason, there is one lucky team that will get the consolation prize of having the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. This year, the No. 1 overall pick will come down to either the Houston Texans or St. Louis Rams, who would earn the pick thanks to a trade with the Washington Redskins. Houston is currently in the driver's seat for the top pick and would clinch the No. 1 spot with a loss in Week 17.

I would so love to see the Washington Redskins end up with that No. 1

Regardless, this only highlights how much Dan Snyder overpaid.

I agree but even if Washington gets the second pick it'll still be a veritable bonanza for the Rams.

They'll just have to settle for Jake Matthews or Jadeveon Clowney with the second choice and target a QB later in the first round, assuming Houston takes Bridgewater. Which seems to be the general assumption.

But there are supposed to be a plethora of options at QB throughout the first round and on into the second.

Or they could throw us a curveball and go in a totally different direction. Should be a fun/good draft.

I'm already excited for it.

Washington losing the 2nd (or 1st) pick in the draft does make that whole storyline just a little better.

Sounds like a QB will be taken number one again. This team is close.
