07:41 AM ET 12.24 | More than 17,500 fans enjoyed an entertaining pre-holiday game in San Jose -- though Sharks GM Doug Wilson thought something was missing. [Wilson] expressed his disappointment that no one from the Los Angeles Kings organization has offered any expression of concern for Tomas Hertl. ... Now, back to Wilson's remarks on how the Kings and Dustin Brown have responded, rather not responded, to the injury to Hertl that will require surgery and could cause him to miss the rest of the season. "Having played in this league for a long time and remembering when I was a rookie, I was tripped into a net in Hartford by the great Gordie Howe and carried off the ice," Wilson said. "He came in between periods, all around the rink to make sure I was OK. So my response to the lack of concern toward our player is disappointing."

Not irked????

The season brings out the whining. This season makes me cranky as hell, so I can relate!

Just remember: One person's whining is another person's telling it like it is.

Just sit back, have your favorite alcoholic beverage and enjoy the next couple days.

We've all heard NHL coaches complain over the years but I don't think I've heard comments quite like this before. So, kudos to Wilson for originality. New rule, if a player is hurt due to a check the other team must send him a get well e-card during the intermission.

Kings are more irked by this...

Plain and simple - the pre-Olay hatchet-men are out in force - and they feel it might be a tad obsequious to feign remorse, or even hint at contrition.

Seems to me the Sharks have a Hertl to overcome now.
