Phillips evasive on QB (and it may be Yates)

07:27 AM ET 12.24 | Texans interim coach Wade Phillips didn't much feel like offering a definitive answer. When discussing the Texans' quarterback situation Monday, [Phillips] did not rule out the possibility of T.J. Yates starting the last game at Tennessee on Sunday. Case Keenum, who started eight consecutive games, missed Sunday's 37-13 home loss to Denver because of ligament damage in his right (throwing hand) thumb. Matt Schaub started against the Broncos and finished with a rating of 48.9. ... Phillips was asked if he's decided on his starting quarterback. "It's like I said, we don't know what his (Keenum) situation is, so we'll have to wait and see," he said. Then Phillips was asked if he would consider starting Yates over Schaub if Keenum is unable to play. "We're going to look at all of that and see what the situation is for sure as far as injuries are concerned," he said. "I think that's what we'll do."

I wonder if he has a name plate to that effect on his desk. That would be funny.

For the Texans, the playoffs are not the next phase of the NFL season.

Like, yeah. The new guy started out great. What did they do, fire him for doing too good a job?

We need an Interim Hot Clicks Editor, at the very least.

Can Wade do that? He'll be looking for a new job soon.

Rowdy Yates?

Wade looks like he's posing for a Saturday Night Fever poster.

Yeah. For a while, it looked like his return to being a DC was working well, but the Texans have the fifth-worst points-against number in the league so far.

But, someone will make him a DC next year.
