Knicks coming after Rondo

07:26 AM ET 12.26 | The next miracle on 33rd street may be a franchise turnaround. [As] the Oklahoma City Thunder were blasting the New York Knicks off their own floor Christmas afternoon, the Knicks' decision-makers were plotting a retrofit. ... And they've already got [Carmelo Anthony's] help lined up. According to league sources, the Knicks' first prong is to try to attract the Celtics' Rajon Rondo. This idea has been tossed around in various forms for a while now, it's not shocking. But the way the Knicks are hoping to get Rondo is a little unusual. It's not in free agency in 2015 but later this season or next summer when he comes back from a torn ACL. The Knicks are hoping Rondo will be interested in making a maneuver similar to what Anthony did back in 2011 and eventually try to force a trade to the Knicks, sources said.

Just what they need another player recovering from ACL surgery.

Here we go again. If Rondo ends up with the Knicks, torn ACL or not, I am OUT.

Keep dreaming. Ain't happening

Isn't that tampering and uh -- illegal -- since Rondo's under contract.

I really hope not! I hate that little ant looking... But that's not the half of it. If it happened it would be just some more idiotic nonsense carried out by Jim Dolan, attempng to build a team all the wrong way.

I don't think he knows how to build a team "the right way". That's like the Family Guy episode where Peter tries to talk Mort into "Buy One, Get One Free", and Mort thinks he's talking some sort of weird language with the "Get One Free" part.

He's a good player and could fit well with Melo. Rondo would bring some discipline and move the Knicks away from Iso ball.

It could work out well so don't be too down on the idea.

Who wrote this ****? I can't believe anyone would take this story seriously.

Think Purple And Gold, Bro

December 26, 2013  09:45 AM ET

That team will never win with 'Melo. He's a coach killing, team spoiling cancer. Adding Rondo isn't going to fix that.

I am very much down on the idea.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

If Rondo were to force a trade, what would make Dolan think it would be to the Bricks? Carmelo already tried that. How has it worked out for him?

I love that show....

RONDO will only leave on his terms...

But man oh man players returning from injuries aren't doing so well.....

If Ainge trades Rondo it won't be to a division rival.
