Hosting the holidays hazardous to a team's health?

07:40 AM ET 12.26 | Well, now, file this away as an interesting theory. Doesn't mean it is universally accepted, though. A day before he was injured in the Penguins' 5-0 loss Monday night in Ottawa, winger Pascal Dupuis suggested that playing their first post-holiday break game on the road could work to the Penguins' advantage. Or, more to the point, to the disadvantage of the Carolina Hurricanes, whom they will face at 7:08 p.m. Friday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. "They're still going to have family [staying] in their houses and little Christmas parties here and there," Dupuis said. "When you're at home after a break, you have the comfort of not traveling but, at the same time, you still have people in your house. It's a little different."

Huh? Is this serious? With all the injuries and more interesting things to write about, we get this?

Isn't that a song, 'Christmas in Carolina?'

Hey DWI. Did you see that Tanner Glass and Orpik are scheduled to come back on Friday. As a result they sent down Zolnierczyk and Samuelsson. I don't understand them keeping Dumolin instead of Samuelsson. Dumolin gave up a couple pucks and was way out of position on a couple goals. I don't know what the Pens see in him.

I think Dupuis is referring to all that liquid lunch that needs to be taken care of after the relatives go home. I know, it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it. ;-)

Wasn't really all that impressed wtih Samuelsson either.

We have to constantly hear of this deep defense. The only one I have been impressed with is Maatta. Management may want to think before letting some of the vets go and putting all their faith in some of the young D.

I miss his dad. One of the dirtiest S*O*Bs to play the game. But he was a good player too.

His son isn't near as dirty as Ulf was. I've watched him the last couple years in Wilkes-Barre and I thought he might be ready for the jump. Given a little more time up he might have stuck.

I'm really disappointed in Despres. He played so well last year during the regular season, but then absolutely stunk in the playoffs. He started out bad when he first got called up, but he seems to have settled down. Of all a the Baby Pens D, I think Bortuzzo is the best.

His son has said he doesn't play like his dad (style-wise - thank goodness), but at the same time, I am not sure his son will ever be as GOOD as a player as his dad. However, it is early, and he is young.
