07:16 AM ET 12.27 | Welcome to a new world where players can announce their status before a program can wrap its arms around the news. Starting Louisville linebacker George Durant said Thursday that he will miss the Cards' Russell Athletic Bowl game on Saturday. Durant, a redshirt senior who made seven starts this season and totaled 16 tackles, said via Twitter that he wished he could "be there" with his teammates for the 6:45 p.m. kickoff against Miami at the Citrus Bowl here in Orlando. "I wish my team the best on Saturday," Durant tweeted. "Y'all boys pull off the victory." U of L had not made any official personnel changes as of Thursday evening, though the coaching staff was aware of Durant's comments on the social media platform.
