Dallas facing discipline over Romo omission

07:08 AM ET 12.27 | Jason Garrett managed to walk a thin line on Thursday. [Garrett] was careful to say he personally had not been contacted by the NFL to ask why Tony Romo had not been included on last week's injury report even though the quarterback and owner Jerry Jones conceded Romo's back was sore leading up to the game. But that doesn't mean the organization hasn't been contacted. Garrett articulated what the club's stance is regarding the league's inquiry. "He took every rep in practice," Garrett said of Romo last week. ... It will be interesting to see if the NFL accepts that explanation since the league's policy clearly states even if a player takes all the reps in practice, an injury must be reported if the player, especially a key player, has an injury that has "been covered extensively by the media."

Don't mess with the Mafia report.....errrrr I mean the injury report.

December 27, 2013  07:39 AM ET

Is Jerry trying to do things "his way" again?

December 27, 2013  07:49 AM ET

Maybe Jerry thinks he has outgrown the GM position and has appointed himself league commish.

Fine them $10M in cap money over two years

December 27, 2013  08:32 AM ET

Nobody lists an injury, unless the player is injured during a game!!!

December 27, 2013  08:35 AM ET

Your comments have hit the nail on the head, Jerry thinks he is the NFL and the hell with everyone else.

December 27, 2013  08:47 AM ET

What a soap opera...

December 27, 2013  09:07 AM ET

Yeah - the bookies get cranky when they set the spread too low.

Maybe JJ bet the Redskins would cover the spread? He is a businessman first.

I think that sounds reasonable. Jerry Jones paying the fine is no big deal. Salary cap punishment is all this guy knows.

Or I'm sure Dallas fans would say " Force him to hire a GM ". Or would that be considered cruel and unusual punishment for Jones.

December 27, 2013  09:27 AM ET

Really, who cares?

December 27, 2013  09:29 AM ET

ESPN's just angry because their ground breaking report made them look foolish!

Wouldn't that be considered punishment for whichever sap gets stuck with the GM tag?

Can we not get through a single Dallas thread without the "fire the GM" chants. Never gonna happen, get over it already. Like a bunch of kids in the back seat.....are we there yet, are we there yet..............

December 27, 2013  09:52 AM ET

Jerry could take a lesson from Little Bill here. Tom Brady has been hurt his whole career.

December 27, 2013  10:19 AM ET

The NFL is being ticky-tack on this issue.

Yes the article is about Garrett. I'm usually the first to criticize Jerry but this article isn't about him.

Bellicheat lists everyone with a slight ailment (toenail, scratch etc ...) as "probable"
