On Rondo, execs don't believe Danny Ainge

07:10 AM ET 12.27 | To what extent are the Knicks ready to pursue Rajon Rondo? Considering the Knicks have two of the league's most guiltless gunners in Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith, pass-first Rondo would be a tremendous fit for the struggling group. Rondo's high school coach revealed in a USA TODAY Sports interview recently that he's being recruited by Anthony, his close friend who is set to be a free agent this summer and who is clearly contemplating new co-workers if he decides to stick around. No matter how many times Celtics general manager Danny Ainge says he's not looking to trade Rondo, the belief from rival executives remains that he can be had at the right price. The trouble, of course, is that the Knicks will be one of many teams in line to make Rondo pitches should Ainge change his tune.

I am not saying the Knicks will get him. I hope thy don't since I personally don't want him, but hasn't everyone learned their lesson when it comes to doubting NY can ge a particular player? People said this same thing about Melo among many other players. Aside from Lebron, who as we know was never really considerng any team but Miami, the Knicks generally get whomever they set ther sights on. The just don't know what to do with the guy once he arrives.

It's his choice? ha ha ha ha Come on. We know how this business works. Unless he has a no trade clause, he'll go where he's dealt.

sure- but he can do what melo did and 'force' them to send him where he wants. when these guys start approaching the FA year, they start to have a ton of power
if they send him to say milwaukee- he will bolt and they will have wasted sending their assets over
