07:59 AM ET 12.28 | What does the youngest player to ever win the Heisman Trophy do to prepare for the Bowl Championship Series national title game? Devise a plan to get ready for the upcoming baseball season. Between practices in preparation to face Auburn on Jan. 6 in Pasadena, Calif., Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has mapped out his routine. "He felt he hit the field a little late last year," said Texas Rangers national cross-checker Clarence Johns, who has remained close with Winston two years after the Rangers drafted the dual-sport star. "He talked about when the bowl game is over, how he can hit the ground running." This was just the latest example of Winston's dogged pursuit of two-sport stardom, his mission to play both football and baseball at the next level, following in the footsteps of Florida State great Deion Sanders.

Forget about it........

You dodged a big one with a home town legal system. Best advice is to keep it zipped because you'd be in jail any place other than Florida.

While some law enforcement may not have handled this case perfectly, I doubt very seriously the Florida system is any worse than the rest of the nation.

And I am not a Floridian so don't accuse me of bias.

Legal issues aside, he ain't and never will be, the "next Bo Jackson".

Bo knows silly talk

Bo's hip injury ended his career in both sports. So Jameis ... why risk injury in football playing for Cleveland or Oakland when you can win a title with the Rangers?

Only "Bo" knows how to be "Bo"... heh heh

Old story, but she just had too many holes and " I don't recall that part" for any prosecutor to go to trial. It smelled bad from the beginning, over a year ago....

Congrats to you and your Men of Orange, 50, on a nice bowl victory yesterday!

We are easily satisfied. Got noooo choice. I wish FSU was playing Alabama in that game, I say FSU would have sent Bama home crying to their Mama. A match up baaad for Alabama. Unfortunately the Bama group will kid themselves into believing it was just some fluke play that stopped them....

I agree. He won't be the next Bo. The odds of him suffering a career-ending injury that early are not good.

Other than that, sky's the limit for Jameis.

I, too, wish we'd had the opportunity to knock out The Chosen Ones...but we'll have to settle for a sound thumping of Owl-barn, instead. Meh.

Oooops! Pinstripe Bowl Time......later.

The way they protect QBs... he wont have to worry about a football injury...

More likely to get hit from a line drive from the Mound....baseball mound that is

Prime didnt tackle and it allowed him to play both sports

Maybe not, but when it's all said and done maybe being the first Jameis is preferable to being the next Bo, anyway. Winston is a real special talent, in both football and baseball.

It's easy to disbelieve and doubt and make jokes and stuff but Jameis Winston is one of those "once in a generation" type athletes, for real.

Y'all will understand by the time his collegiate career draws to a close.

And, I would posit, that Jameis is already a better baseball player than Neon ever was.
