09:35 AM ET 12.28 | Terrell Owens discussed Kyle Orton filling in for an injured Tony Romo for NFL Total Access: "My thing with Romo is he's been inconsistent late in ball games. I think going into a situation like this, you don't have him, No. 1. But you give yourself, I feel like, a better chance. The thing is, with Tony Romo, you kind of already know what to expect. Late in the game, it's a toss up. You just read off the mind blowing stats. If you look at what Kyle Orton has done, he's done more with less. I think if you look at this in this situation, I think beyond certainty, obviously with them not playing against Kyle Orton, meaning the Eagles, he has an edge. I think, obviously, he's going to have to utilize all his weapons. I think he's going to have to do some quick passing, get (DeMarco) Murray involved. But again, you have a game changer and a playmaker in Dez Bryant."

Donavan McNabb and Jeff Garcia approve this thread.

The NFC East is on the line - as well as the opportunity to go one-and-done in the playoffs.

I still don't see how either NFC East team can pull off a win against San Francisco or the Saints.

Uh, okay...

Now, now. It's hard to talk while doing sit-ups between bowling frames.

Yep, my head was spinning too. As Steve Martin once said, some people have a way with words, and others.... not... have way.

''But again, you have a game changer and a playmaker in Dez Bryant." If he doesn't leave early.

That's not nice. You might make Dez cry.

A few seasons back, Jeff George used to pop up on the radar, talking about how he could have gotten the Vikes to a Super Bowl with whatever talent they had on the roster that season.

You can't spell idiot without T O. Anything this guy says is crap.

If he gets inducted in the HoF, he should do his speech from a psychiatrist's couch.

for once, Mr TO is dead on. Romo is proven, he's choke artist and Orton has a way of pulling it together in times of need. It'd be better if Orton had more reps, like if Romo could have hurt himself 2 or 3 games ago, timing, Orton's timing will be off and that's a the concern. I guess it all comes down to Romo again, why couldn't he have hurt himself against the Packers and given the Cowboys a chance?

Jeff George. Warren Moon. Gus Frerotte, Jim McMahon. Brad Johnson's second stint. Donavan McNabb. Archie Manning.

Off the top of my head, a short list of has-beens and never-weres that were starters for the Vikes.

Archie Manning? Wow... I didn't know that.
