07:15 AM ET 12.30 | Not only is Mike Shanahan likely a goner, but Brian Orakpo may be moving on, too. [Orakpo] wasn't able to suit up for the Redskins' season finale on Sunday because of a groin muscle injury. Now, he's left to wonder if he's worn the burgundy and gold for the final time. "We'll see, we'll see," Orakpo said after the Redskins' 20-6 loss to the Giants. "This whole free agent thing is new to me. You got to understand, every year I was still under contract. I had a great time being a part of the Washington Redskins. I want to continue it, but who knows?" ... Orakpo put up strong numbers this season and likely has put himself in line for a free agent contract that will pay him $10-12 million per season. In 15 games, the 27-year-old made a career-high 60 tackles, recorded 10 sacks and returned an interception for a [TD].

Lots of personnel will be on the move.

Dallas go get him please - bookend him with Ware, and let's eat some QBs.....

Can't afford him. Dallas is so far over the cap already they will be lucky to bring in a new water boy.

Dallas can offer Romo in exchange.

It's time to restructure his contract already.

I always enjoyed that Geico commercial Orakpo was in... the one where they had to stress that he was Brian Orakpo. Because no one knew who he was.

I think Washington and Dallas both have cap problems. Hail to the Eagles.

Can see the Dolphins making a play for him despite not needing him.
Bears, Broncos, Patriots all need defensive help and can contend.
He should be looking for championships and know washington isn't getting one anytime soon.
Ultimately will look for Minnesota to sign him, they always get the best ends and lineman. That front office must lure them in with twinkies tied to the end of fishing rods or something.

Imagine the embarrassment on Snyders face if Shannahan were fired and then hired on another team and took Orakpo with him?

I always hear from the press of how Snyder and Shannahan hate each other. What was the straw that broke their partnership ?

The NFL has a cap problem. Period. The cap number today is lower than it was five years ago while profit and total revenue have increased substantially. The NFLPA got hosed in the last CBA.

He's fired.

Bye fool !

They said it all started when Snyder had Thanksgiving dinner with RGIII and his family after beating the cowboys last season....

Skins no longer have a cap problem. It was the penalty that was killing them. Bruce Allen did a good juggling and now Little Danny can go shopping.

I don't see Shannahan getting another head coaching job. And, I can't see Snyder ever being embarrassed. He's immune I think.

Shannahan might have been the wrong coach but so were the last 2. The only common part is the owner.

So Shanahan is officially fired. Now he can play golf next year for $7 million while Snyder searches for some other desperate type to take the job. Forget that. Then they will tell us "oh it will only take five years to build a winner!"

They'll eventually get another first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Five years might not be that far from reality.

Can that caveman guy play? 'Cause he sure didn't do anything for me as a cheerleader.
