07:21 AM ET 12.31 | After earning its way to the playoffs, it didn't take San Diego long to wind up in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Chargers linebacker Thomas Keiser was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge at a Gaslamp Quarter restaurant and bar Sunday night, San Diego police said. Keiser, 24, was arrested about 10:50 p.m. outside of barleymash on Fifth Avenue, hours after the Chargers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in overtime to earn a wild-card spot in the NFL playoffs. Keiser and another man had an altercation that turned into a fight, and police were called, Officer Jim Johnson said. The other man had minor injuries and refused treatment from medics, Johnson said. ... The restaurant manager declined comment Monday night. Arrest records show Keiser's bail was set at $8,000. He is no longer in jail, according to the sheriff's website.

One game tackle-One arrest, a full day.

He must have thought the Game was still on !!! Let's see if The Chargers Suspend him or reward him?

December 31, 2013  09:27 AM ET

Another media report with absolutely zero details. Journalism is a very easy job isn't it.

Would anyone notice if they did suspend him?

December 31, 2013  10:15 AM ET

I wouldn't necessarily say the Chargers "earned their way into the playoffs". It took a couple of other teams losing and a few terrible non-calls for them to get in.

So - they finally have their replacement for Shawne Merriman?

Unclear. Googling "Thomas Keiser" and "nandrolone" yields nothing.

December 31, 2013  11:30 AM ET

They should have been arrested for stealing that last game....

December 31, 2013  11:48 AM ET

It's time for the playoffs, get into a bar fight so no practice is needed.

Agreed. The officiating this season has been a complete disaster. That Leavy guy needs to have his legs broke.
