Raises for everyone at Michigan State

07:37 AM ET 12.31 | Returning to The Granddaddy of Them All has taken Mark Hollis only about a quarter century. The last time Michigan State played in the Rose Bowl, [Hollis] was a recent MSU grad working for the Western Athletic Conference, fresh off a different bowl assignment and sitting in the stands with other Spartans fans. On Monday, he was an MSU athletic director absorbing the realization of a 26-year-old dream to get back. ... Hollis and MSU head coach Mark Dantonio have discussed the specifics of raises for Dantonio and his staff, to be announced soon. "Mark and I have met and we know where we're at, with not only himself but with everyone on the staff," Hollis said of Dantonio, who is ninth in the Big Ten with a $1.96 million-a-year salary and will receive a $2 million longevity bonus in January.

Michigan State University is cheap and second rate compared to Michigan and Ohio State.

Appears to be ninth rated to them.

Tired of daily Sparty thread, but then, they will win the Rose Bowl!!!!! Did you hear me OT?

Funny, I just re-checked the B1G standings and we are First. Winning without over paying is good value. Michigan State is one of the few athletic departments that is fully self-funded. Unlike some schools, they don't spend money they don't have.
And there can never be too many Sparty threads. Go Green.

Of course you understand there are fans of some programs who think this is preposterous, especially the ones where they spend more on football than on research.
