Gundy ready to flirt with the Longhorns

07:38 AM ET 12.31 | Mike Gundy may not have liked the question, but it had to be asked. Given the head coaching vacancies in college football, has anyone contacted Gundy or any of his representatives about any of the openings? "No," Gundy said Monday during Cotton Bowl media day, "nobody's contacted me." Simple. To the point. No harm in that. But if you're an Oklahoma State fan, don't you want a little more from Gundy? ... I mean, check out what Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said recently about being a candidate for the Texas job. "I see Michigan State as a destination, not a stop," he said. Gundy has said nothing of the sort. And so, we're left to wonder if Gundy is going to flirt with other schools like he did last year. Texas would be high on that list.

He's a man, he's (over) 40. I think Gundy may prefer to be the BMOC rather than play little brother to OU and Stoops.

Would not be surprised. The pay would be a bit better also.

But does TU want a man or a coach who will listen to the BOR and all the Alum?

Gundy is a great coach but he may be facing NCAA sanctions at OkState. The SI series presented some compelling evidence and testimonials. I doubt if he's on Texas' short list.

He is facing sanctions or the OK State football program is facing sanctions? Makes it even better to get out of town now if he can.

There are higher aspirations than HC at OkState

1-8 against OU. Might as well keep Mack.

In such a case, the only safe escape is to the NFL (cf. Kelly, Carroll, etc.)

Mike Gundy is not well liked in college football circles. Gundy is a bottom feeder crawling along like a snake in the grass on his belly. Texas deserves a better snake.

Fixed.

Texas can't handle manliness on Gundy's scale....
