Kadri can consider himself warned

07:41 AM ET 12.31 | Tyler Bozak returned to the golden boy treatment. And Nazem Kadri was a bit of the whipping boy for his coach. With little prompting, Randy Carlyle sent a none-too-subtle message to Kadri that he might very well find himself slip-sliding all the way down to the third troika -- or worse -- if improvement isn't demonstrated forthwith. "I've been dealing with that since day one, so it's nothing new to me," Kadri shrugged following Monday's practice, though clearly startled at the news delivered to his locker by reporters. ... He should consider himself warned. ... The obvious insinuation is that Kadri had not taken advantage of his first-line promotion during Bozak's injury absence, provided a glorious opportunity with top-producing linemates Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk.

The question for Nonis and crew is: can they wait until Kadri grows up?

Sometimes its best to cut bait while the value is still high. I know everyone thinks the B's got screwed on the Seguin trade, but Reilly Smith, in basically his first season has already put in 14 goals and is only 5 behind Seguin. That doesn't count the other pieces Boston got in the trade.

He has blended in quite well with Bergeron and Marchand.

I'd prefer him with Soderberg and Spooner when Eriksson comes back. Tons of speed with Spooner and Smith, and some snarl from Soderberg.

Eriksson is skating again and will be back soon hopefully. Chara and Hamilton are both very close. Only Kelly remains out long term for the forwards, and Seidenberg is gone for the season.

My advice for Chris Kelly is to find a good moving company.

That trade did work out well for both sides which is a rarity. Still the Leafs should probably give the kid a little more time.

Trade him to Florida where we won't have to hear about the self-absorbed whiny little prick anymore.
