KG way out of sorts

07:09 AM ET 01.02 | By nearly every on-court measure, Kevin Garnett's change of scenery hasn't gone according to plan -- something that continued on New Year's Eve with an 0-for-5 from the floor. And while it's true Garnett wasn't expected to carry the scoring load as he did in Boston on a roster with younger stars such as Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, he certainly was expected to do far more than he has. After missing all five shots he took Tuesday, Garnett is now shooting a dismal 36.4 percent for the season -- more than a full 13 points below his 49.6 percent clip last season in Boston. ... "Honestly, I have no rhythm," Garnett said. "I'm trying to establish some confidence, and figure out where I fit into this whole 'where I fit into the offense' thing."

Time to retire.

A classic example of irony... "I left a team because I didn't want go through a rebuilding project, only to find myself with a team that appears to be going through a rebuilding project."

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :|

There's nothing to figure out. The bum in washed-up.

Time for him to hit the road!

The title should say "KG wants out, sort of"...

They are not rebuilding. They are first imploding the old building before starting the re-build.

He's a backup at this point in his career.

PP has a little more left in the tank than KG.

Agreed. All those times Kevin was barking and talking trash to other teams and players. It's coming back to bit him. The only time he was able to back up that trashy mouth of his was when he played for Boston.

To bad so sad.

This just makes what Tim Duncan did last year, and is doing this year, even more amazing. It's incredible how far KG has fallen off.

January 2, 2014  11:17 AM ET

Love you, KG......but it's time to think about walking away.

I don't know if KG has really "fallen". He never expected him to be carrying any sort of offensive load on this team. He's probably more shocked about what he got into, at this point. DWill, JJ, BL all complete flops. Kidd is a flop too. KG has no motivation of any sorts.

TD is a totally different story, cannot compare the situation at all. Pop is Pop.

All of his 'effectiveness' ratings are at career lows......and the drop off from last season (when he was 'serviceable') to this season are significant.

Seriously......KG has definitely "fallen".

KG is a dirty player and that Celtic team was sort of dirty also.

I have to agree with this assessment.

Personally I thought he got old in Boston and would never really do that much in Brooklyn.

Yes he has fallen off. His patented jumper is way off. If he doesn't have that he doesn't have little. His defensiv toughness means little now
