Trade talk still stings Gasol

07:11 AM ET 01.02 | Pau Gasol can almost easily peel off the answers now -- which isn't to say emotion is out of the equation. Gasol could be on the move again, once more for a player whose greatest appeal is his expiring contract. Andrew Bynum's contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers is what some call a "super-expiring" contract, because it isn't fully guaranteed. The Lakers can acquire Bynum, waive him and get rid of the remaining half of his $12.5 million contract -- saving themselves $20 million including luxury tax expenditures in the process. "It's not easy," Gasol said. "As much as I'm used to it after three years of several [years of potential trades], it's not easy." He has his answers down to a routine, having been through this ever since he and [Lamar Odom] were included in the attempted trade for Chris Paul.

It is sort of weird how the Lakers honor Kobe and make him the highest paid player in the league while he is broken. They say they did it out of loyalty...then they turn around and kick Pau to the curb like this.

Pau needs to quit whining and pouting......this is all business. **** and play ball!

Maybe they think Gasol has more of a trading potential than Kobe would have.

Why would the Cavs do this? They help the Lakers while putting themselves in a bigger hole. They'd rather pay $20 million instead of $6 million and maybe lose a first or second round picks. I know they erred up w/ the Bynum signing but what are you getting back in return? Lakers fans are saying this is a great deal but every deal is always a great deal for them.

word on the street is he gets to KEEP his big boy pants
in any trade scenario

the cavs get back a legit post scorer- and a veteran
they are so young and the east is terrible-
so if they get pau and add anotehr decent veteran....
they could/should get into the playoffs and get some EXPERIENCE
and som good positive energy for the kids & their future

not saying give up all their 1st round picks.
but 1 late round one ? why not

For $20 million and he looks more like he is IR a lot more is not really a positive. The Cavs should go for the repeat #1 pick. They're almost there even if they tried really hard to make the playoffs.

Just look at the rich harvest they have reaped for all their lottery picks the last 3 years (outside of Kyrie). Maybe if they have a dozen more they can hit on another one of them.

Too Much For Too Little, Bro.

The Cavs need to skip this trade and hit the lottery once more this summer. The need a seond star to pair with Kyrie. If he is stuck there alone he will get frustrated and bolt also.

Besides, with Kyrie being injury prone do you really want all of your eggs in that basket?

They like to stockpile draft picks and won't eventually be able to pay them all.

Kind of like OKC when they had to choose between Ibaka and Harden.

Kings will overtake the Lakers in the standings. Let them enjoy for awhile. I've already stated a month ago that the Suns, Pelicans, and Kings are teams you don't want to mess with. Other fans need to start watching other teams and not just their own...
