07:30 AM ET 01.02 | Officially, not a whole lot is known about Tomas Hertl's return schedule. [Hertl] is expected to return to the San Jose area later this week after undergoing surgery to repair damage to the MCL and PCL ligaments in his right knee on Tuesday. For now, the Sharks are only deeming Hertl's timetable to return as "indefinite." NHL teams are not required to disclose injury information. A former NHL team trainer familiar with Hertl's type of injury told CSNCalifornia.com the "best case" scenario for Hertl to return would be approximately 12 weeks. More likely, Hertl will be out of action from six to nine months, which would keep him out the remainder of the 2013-14 season. ... Hertl will likely need at least two to three weeks before the rehab process can begin, according to the source.

He has some Hertls to overcome. Hopefully he's back before the playoffs.

A young guy should be able to jump right back.

He better be careful coming back after an injury like that. Too soon and he might Hertl himself all over again.

He looks more like a "Wheel of Fortune" guy to me

Now that he's old enough to drink, rehab should be fun.

Sit him out long-term, and let him build it up properly, and start again sometime next season - this team'll pack it in almost immediately after the O-lays - even if they all get snubbed, and Pavel-the-ski-er is the only one that goes.

shucks, he was having a good rookie campaign

so Dustin Brown gets no suspension for taking out a great young prospect, potentially for 9 months, with an obvious knee to knee hit. Nice work NHL.

Designated Back Stabber Brown that is - the 'unsuspendable' - Tomas won't be the only world class player that he 'Dusts' off before the O-Lays.

Well for the U.S....

I hope this kid heals and doesn't regret not winning the Calder , as it was looking good for him.

On the subject of celebrations, Chelios put on a beauty the other day in the alumni game, and wFedorov scored a goal! Maybe it gets him a chance to get back playing for the KHL longer......

Too bad Stevie's knees are so bad, as it would have been great to see him in the shoot out......and where was Sundin?
