07:20 AM ET 01.03 | When it comes to Public Policy Polling, which released the results of its annual NFL poll on Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys are not America's Team. Just 23% of respondents believe Dallas is still America's Team. That's the same amount of respondents who chose Dallas as their most disliked team, which put the Cowboys ahead of the Bears (13%), Patriots (9%) and Broncos (8%). 2. Lots of people must like Peyton Manning or just assume Tim Tebow never left Denver ... The Broncos (14%) led voting for the most-liked team in the NFL. That was better than the Cowboys (12%), Packers (11%) and Bears (10%). And, indeed, Peyton was chosen as the most-liked quarterback in the NFL with 22% of the vote. 3. Robert Griffin III is just as popular as Tom Brady.

I don't think it is a dislike for the Cowboys themselves, but rather a reflection of the negative emotions people have for JJ and the way he runs the team.

People don't like the Cowboys?

I know many people who like seeing them fail...

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was annoyed by the whole "America's Team" onslaught way back in the day. They weren't my team. To me it was always just an advertising campaign like Where's the Beef, You Know You're Soaking In It and Farfegnugen. I'm shocked 23% of respondents answered that way. I doubt 23% of Cowboys season ticket holders feel that way these days.

So the most liked teams in the NFL are also the most disliked?

January 3, 2014  08:33 AM ET

I'm assuming Jacksonville falls under the category of no one gives a ****, even in Florida.

Guilty.

I concur...

Not!!

How did the Bears come in 2nd for most disliked team? Don't you have to win and anger other teams' fans to be disliked such as the Patriots?

January 3, 2014  08:50 AM ET

Tom Landry hated the 'Americas Team' nickname. It was forced on him by Tex Schramm.

Even back at the height of the 'Americas Team' hype, I knew more people that rooted against them than for them. On the other hand back then, they were a winning team as opposed to what the current GM has brought to the table.

They never seem to disappoint in that regard.

Most people are misinformed by the whole 'America's Team' name. The Cowboys didn't create the name. They have been known as America???s Team since 1978, when a NFL Film producer, Bob Ryan, gave them that title for the annual documentary by Steve Sabol.

Cowboys are Americas team. Think about it. They spend a truck load of tax payers money (new stadium) and completely under perform on the field. In America, it seems the more they spend the less they get and then use the media to tell it's citizens how great they are. Take the health care "debate" as an example. USA spends way more than any other country and is #38 in quality. Thankfully the republican party is there to tell the American people how great their health system is and how it's evil to change it. 'Merika!

The dislike is for the greedy, SOB owner, not necessarily the team.

January 3, 2014  09:13 AM ET

America's Team -- the team that best represents Americans -- are the Baltimore Ravens.

As long as General Jerry is in charge I would have voting for the Cowboys as my favorite team knowing as long as he thinks he knows everything they will never see the promise land again.

JJ is in the Promised Land because he's making billions even though he fields an inept team.

Damn - and here I was believing the Jags were the most disliked team.

I gotta get out more.

The Jaguars are the worst team in the NFL ... not the most disliked.
