07:25 AM ET 01.03 | Money, it couldn't be the shoes? Houston Rockets G Jeremy Lin has agreed to a shoe deal with adidas, thus departing Nike, a league source informed CSNNW.com. The source spoke on condition of anonymity due to adidas having yet to have made an official announcement on the agreement. According to the source, the announcement will come on Friday. The signing of Lin only increases adidas' global brand. Lin, 25, is averaging 14.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 24 appearances this season. Lin, an undrafted free agent out of Harvard, came on to the scene after he was waived by the Golden State Warriors and joined the New York Knicks in 2012. After he unexpectedly led the Knicks to a win over the then New Jersey Nets in early February of 2012, and his success continued late into the season.

Lakers could use one also. Asik and Lin both could help LA.

I'm not sold on Lin. Also Asik is a decent center but will be overpaid next season. The impact on the salary cap may not be great but 15 million is 15 million.

Why would we care if it's not our money? Adding a top 5 rebounder and good interior defender is a plus. Cost isn't really our concern.

This is why judging a player on All-Star selection is idiotic........Lin is 4th in voting......I hope he makes it in just to blow up voting system......

He is not worht what Houston is now stuck paying him. Letting him go was he smartest move the Knicks made in years.

Houston is going to hit the wall next season. They cannot afford to pay all of these guys.

As a fan cost is always a concern. The higher the salaries the higher the ticket prices.

Whether it's Lin or his agent, the guy is definitely maximizing his $$. He made the most of his RFA status with a $25mil deal, and now I'm sure Adidas is paying him a good amount (at least more than Nike). For a guy who may wind up being only a so-so guard, he's getting paid like a star.
