07:33 AM ET 01.03 | Righty Jeff Suppan, who may be best remembered for his October performances with the Cardinals in 2004 and 2006, hung up his cleats on Thursday. Suppan, a product of Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley who last pitched in 2012 for the Padres but whose best years came with Kansas City, Pittsburgh and especially St. Louis throughout the previous decade, purposefully selected 2 p.m. Pacific time on Jan. 2 to make the announcement. He wanted to honor his late beloved mother Kathleen, who died at that time of day exactly six years ago to the day. ... [Suppan] was a sinkerballing finesse hurler who pitched at 88-91 mph in his prime, but still managed to put together nine double-digit win campaigns in 10 seasons while pitching for the Royals, Pirates, Cardinals and Brewers.

If you are a Cardinal fan you only want to remember Suppan in 06 with a win , not in 04 with a loss in the Series.

You definitely don't want to remember Suppan's baserunning in '04...it was princely.

I choose to remember him besting Roger Clemens in Game 7 of the NLCS in 2004, as well as his 2006 performance.

Suppan is a great guy, and while he alway seemed to do it under the radar, he won some BIG games for the Cardinals.

Good for Him, You only have one Mom!!!

Unlike most of my fellow Brewer fans, I really loved it when he was here playing for us. EVERY five days it was free ball day!! Everyone in the bleachers had an equal shot at a freebie, and in 3 or 4 years or whatever it was that he was here, I believe all of us got one at one point or another!
