07:38 AM ET 01.03 | To some degree, considering the outcome, one might reasonably give AJ McCarron a pass on the topic, but it had to come up. [McCarron], asked after Alabama's 45-31 Sugar Bowl loss about a report that he will not play in the Senior Bowl, said he's "not thinking about that right now." "I'm trying to enjoy this last moment with my teammates and enjoy this time with my family," he said. "When I announce it, you'll hear it." NFL Network analyst Gil Brandt tweeted on Monday that was was told McCarron "would not accept his Senior Bowl invite." But McCarron's mother, Dee Dee McCarron, told AL.com that her son has yet to make a decision. McCarron, a fifth-year senior from Mobile, completed 19 of 30 passes for 387 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and was sacked seven times in his final game at Alabama.

this MOMMA's BOY is a True Rube.... what a way to go out---- Schmoe'd by Auburn, then gets SMACKED by a freshman QB --- just another bama QB that won't make it in the NFL...

Way to SOIL THE BED on national TV ala-BAMMY!!!!

McCarron is a class act and a great player with a future in the NFL I believe, HOWEVER, I do think he will have nightmares about Striker for some time...

We're just not a very good team this year. Congratulations to Oklahoma for beating us badly.

Hey bushisright, you're so knowledgeable about football. How's the 2 straight losses Penn State suffered to Alabama a few years ago still feel? Remember how you predicted they would beat us badly both times? And now O'Briuen is saying good bye to Ped U. Must hurt.

I believed going into last night that Bama was still the b3est team in the country. Saban got outcoached last night for the first time in a long while!

Not a very good team? You should wear pink every day of 2014 for posting that blather.

The outcome of the game may be found in 21 points off turnovers. Those turnovers were uncharacteristic of this Bama team. Execution was the bottom line of the 2014 Sugar Bowl outcome.

That was a fun game to watch. So coach Bob Stoops is the only coach to have won all 4 BCS bowls. Wow. How many NC's does he have?

That Henry RB for Bama looked great, was he just a freshmen? I wish my Irish had unstoppable weapons like that.

The pressure on McCarron is something I do not think he has seen in a long time. OU's defensive front is young and built for spread offenses but they can move against those large O linemen.

Reminded me of Marcus Dupree.... Kid has a chance to be a star.

I think McCarrons girlfriend should have dressed a little more casual for the game,, maybe a tight fitting Bama jersey with her navel showing and a pair of cut off blue jeans with knee high leather black boots.

It could've made all the difference for AJ's game last night.

Disagree.....I think Saban was outcoached in the Iron Bowl as well. No disrespect, but he's been outcoached the last 2 times he's taken the field.

January 3, 2014  08:57 AM ET

And how bout that young kid Trevor Knight for OU. Outstanding performance. I hope the Cotton and the Orange will be just as excitiing as the Sugar was.

I thought this as well....I was really nervous, especially after Bama scored so easily on the first drive...thought it was going to be a LONG night (or short one so I could leave early to get home).

Careful, now you know folks on here don't like being told Stoops is a good coach....

+1

Gump didn't execute and Okie flat out wanted it more. Alabama looked like they took the game for granted and just had to show up to win....Oklahoma was sky-high.

More than any of ND's coaches for the past 15 years.

Why?

Good point......here's a twist. Does this turn up the pressure on Stoops going forward?

After a performance like that, I would assume the Okie fan base now EXPECT him to make the playoffs next year. The bar may have just been set very high for this OU staff

I thought I heard it was 28 points off of turnovers....and none of the int's were the fault of the receivers...AJ didn't throw the ball well at all. And the 2 fumbles were disastrous for Bama as well...

Were the turnovers because Bama wasn't "into the game" as some have already speculated? Or because of OU's highly ranked defense?

Uh...I would expect that ANY power team's fan base would expect their team to make the playoffs, or come very damn close, every year.

ROFLMMAO...when this excuse was used for Utah's win over Bama, a lot of folks on here insisted it was because Utah deserved to be the BCS Buster that year and it proved they belonged....same thing for the year OU lost to Boise...it wasn't that OU didn't expect to win and therefore didn't play as well as they should, it was because Boise was the Up and Comer that year as the new Power Football Team and belonged with the "Big Boys".

So you are saying that Bama dissed OU? LOL...I think Saban and their team is better than that.
