Jordan Crawford wants to return to Celtics in 2014-15

07:58 PM ET 01.03 | The Boston Celtics were close to pulling the trigger on a trade that would have landed them Houston Rockets center Omer Asik back in December, but the trade fell through and the Celtics held onto all trade chips involved. But the trade talks with Houston about Asik were preceded by rumors that the Miami Heat could come knocking and asking about swapping assets for Jordan Crawford. No such deal has been offered or discussed, but Crawford is letting it be known that he wants to remain with the Celtics both this season and next season after becoming a restricted free agent over the summer. A lot can happen between now and a potential return to Boston for Crawford, but he's already got eyes set on coming back, which already puts the Celtics in the lead to land him in the summer.

bench player.
no reason to commit to him long term.
give stars and starters long term contracts, not bench guys
(unless its an elite bench guy- he's not that)

He's actually done surprisingly well. I liked him when ATL drafted him, but needless to say, the Hawks are clueless in recognizing any kind of talent.

He plays well, and gets a lot of minutes, under Brad Stevens. He might want to stay because he loves playing, or because he wants a contract worth more than his skills, but he's been a pleasant surprise this year for the Celtics.

The league always has a spot for guys who can flat out score the ball and thats what crawford does. sign him to a lon term deal he seems to have matured, and Brad Stevens loves him, hes always a fan favorite here in Boston

he gets minutes now.

but when rondo comes back (assuming he stays)
his minutes will go way down
-even if they start rondo slowly-

as I said earlier- he's a nice bench player to have,
but in this cap era, you don't want to commit $ on bench guys
before you have the top of the roster set.

Rondo and green are starters-
the rest of the guys should be bench guys (ideally)
