07:59 PM ET 01.03 | The Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to fight their way out of finishing another year in disappointment, but while the team is winning, not everyone is contributing the way management would like. Rookie guard Shabazz Muhammad has been sent to the D-League by the Wolves, prompting some to think that a trade might be in order. With Ricky Rubio's contract expiring and Kevin Love's not far off either, the Wolves are in win-now mode before they lose one or both of their stars to other teams. Minnesota has been looking for front court help on the trade market and Muhammad might be a trade chip as we approach the deadline. For now though, he's headed to the D-League where he'll try to prove not only his trade value but also fight for a roster spot with the Wolves.
