Too many Angels in outfield?
Garret Anderson accelerated his rehabilitation from a hip injury, running wind sprints before Sunday's game, and Manager Mike Scioscia said the left fielder "is feeling much better -- he's getting closer every day." In Anderson's absence, Reggie Willits has emerged as such a productive leadoff batter and proficient left fielder that Scioscia will have little choice but to keep Willits in the lineup when Anderson is activated. Which leaves Anderson where?

How about when Juan Rivera comes off the DL midsummer? Anderson is a DH only at his age.

Anderson will DH...if he doesn't hit, thats when Hillendbrand and others will get spot starts to show if they are ready to step up. There is no way Willits will sit unless he takes a dump and stops getting on base, but the way he takes pitches and runs, i dont see that happening. I cant wait to get Anderson back, now look at the lineup...Willits, Cabrera, Vladdy, Matthews, Anderson, Aybar, Kotchman, Napoli, and Figgins. Pretty good lineup and I wont even mention the bench, who can step up on any day. Looking forward to a good run at a championship. OUT.

Hey Itchynut what about Howie Kendrick? He'll be back tomorrow. Who goes then?

the angels have far too many outfielders and will have an exceptionally deep bench
OFs- Guerrero, Matthews Jr., Reggie Willits, Garret Anderson, Juan Rivera in mid-july, Figgins (but he can play anywhere)
assuming they keep an outfield of Guerrero, Matthews, and Willits, there is no place for Rivera, and if Garret Anderson is the DH, Shea Hillenbrand will have to either play first or DH, leaving no room for Kotchman. The angels have far too many average players and they desperately need a star hitter

remember when the halos could've packaged santana, figgins, and probably brandon wood for manny ramirez? doubt the sox would make that deal now. santana is struggling, figgins is a mess, and wood couldn't stay in the majors for more than a day (tho he'll probably be back). stoneman had a couple great free agent deals (vlad and bartolo) but then really crapped the bed letting glaus leave and getting nothing for him, then signing finley (and whatever-his-name was that they dumped him for last year) and now hillenbrand. ouch.

Angels should be all over Todd Helton, they have the talent that the Rockies like/need. Helton(L) in front of Vladdy (R)would be super sweet and the missing piece to making this team bonafide elite IMO.

should have traded santana and figgins for a power third baseman. Anderson will rotate the DH spot with vlad and juan after the break. Hillendbrand will get release just like weaver did last year, so don't worry about shea
