Eagles face decision on keeping Riley Cooper

09:23 AM ET 01.05 | There might not have been too many -- or any -- Riley Cooper jerseys in the stands. But the Philadelphia Eagles may have never won the NFC East and hosted a home playoff game this season without the controversial fourth-year receiver, who had a team-leading six catches for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 26-24 wild-card loss to the New Orleans Saints on Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field. Cooper is ticketed for free agency, but the Eagles may be compelled to re-sign him, a nearly unthinkable development just a few months ago.

Saw a great meme on Facebook...Picture of a bald eagle feeding its young. One of the eaglets says, "Daddy, what is the Super Bowl?"...The father eagle answers, "How would I know son? I'm an Eagle.". :-D

Good one.

This morning I am still trying to understand why Kelley did not let the Saints score a touchdown in the last two minutes with no timeouts left to stop the clock. To me that was their only real chance of winning the game by doing so.

Riley, maybe the racial comments are behind you, but that was a huge drop in the game yesterday. That's going to stick with you for a while.

Yeah, but you can't hold one drop against the guy. If so, Calvin Johnson would be done in this league.

Ask Wes Welker how a couple drops effected his career in NE. Cooper had the whole field in front of him and dropped a pass that hit him in the hands. When you lose post season game, it amplifies the mistake.

this one?

It all depends on how greedy Cooper and his agent are. Regardless of what he's worth, there's always someone stupid enough to pay too much.

There was plenty of blame to go around, he just became an easy target. Maybe that is why he wanted out the last two years there? He definitely wanted out of there.

How many locker rooms would take him in?

It's one thing for Eagles players to forgive him. They already knew the guy. In other locker rooms, he's starting from scratch.

Very well could factor into his decision.

Well, then, the other team should also sign Richie Incognito to make Coop feel welcome.

Well played.

Eagles won't resign him. There is already a replacement due to hit FA this year who has improved route running and slightly above average hands (so long as he doesn't catch it within 3 yards of a defender) and as a Steelers fan I will be happy to see this once-promising talent leave.
Emmanuel Sanders-or Plaxico Burress-really, take them both so we don't get 'smart' and do it.

I thought Cooper had a pretty good year, not sure Chip is gonna let him walk away.

The man messed up, no doubt, but what ever happened to that old thing of "to forgive is divine??? We live in a nation of no humor or forgiveness.
