Would Louisville bring back Bobby Petrino?

10:19 AM ET 01.05 | Though Charlie Strong had never served as a head coach prior to being hired, the appointment was such a no-brainer that it offset his lack of experience. For this hiring cycle, however, UL may want to focus on candidates with a successful period as a college head coach under their belts. But it would be impractical for the school to ignore qualified contenders currently working as assistants in college football's premier conferences -- whether on offense or defense. While Strong worked wonders with UL's defense, the school has found great success in the last decade-plus with an offense-first coach. There is no choice but to at least mention Bobby Petrino, the former Louisville coach -- wildly successful Louisville coach, one should add -- currently rehabbing his reputation in the Sun Belt Conference with Western Kentucky. While his off-field issue at Arkansas looms large, Petrino is absolutely one of the finest offensive coaches in the country. It must at least be considered.

I would hire him. So the guy has a weakness for cheap blondes on motorcycles. I'm sure it was just a midlife crisis thingy. It time for forgiveness and let the man coach and develop some of the bigger boys in CFB.

I agree. You want a little passion in your HC.

Yep, they can exchange stories. Pitino, however, is much more hypocritical than Petrino when justifying his escapades.
