Indiana may lose top recruits

Indiana basketball signees Devin Ebanks and Terrell Holloway have provisions in their letters of intent that could release them from their commitment because of coach Kelvin Sampson's resignation Friday. IU athletic director Rick Greenspan did not identify them but said "one or two recruits" had letters with escape clauses related to NCAA Tournament bans or a change of coaches. "That's a commitment obviously we'd honor," Greenspan said. "The next challenge for this coaching staff will be to reach out to those young men and provide them some sense of comfort and normalcy in an environment that's very different than when they committed." Ebanks, a 6-8 forward from New York, is rated among the top 10 players in the country, according to recruiting services. Holloway, a 6-footer from Cincinnati Harmony Community School, is ranked among the top 20 point guards in the nation and top 150 players.

If Devin Ebanks were to leave Indiana he would either come to the U or Rutgers and based on this season Miami should b his choice...can u imagine us with Ebanks and all our players are returning except anthony king?

Pretty happy about that idea arent ya?

St. Johns will fire Norm Roberts. They will bring back Bobby Cremmins who will use his NYC hook-ups to bring Devin Ebanks next year, and Lance Stephenson the year afterward.

I call it.

I don't know why he would change his mind. IU will still get an outstanding coach. Also if he wants national recognition Indiana is one of the top places to go. I imagine if he's that good he'll only be around one season anyway, just like Gordon.

Well, James quit OU when KS went to Indiana. He laid the wood to OU today. Nobody wants to stick with a cheater.

Always remember most kids go to play for the coach not for the school or the team in most aspects so those kids IU thought they had in the bag have now left the building

Not so sure Ebanks is bound for either Rutgers or Miami. At this point he will have his choice of top programs to come in and be showcased. I bet he either ends up at Memphis (the whole team is going pro) or Kansas (if Rush goes pro). Both provide him the ability to come in and be 1-and-done while being on TV every game.

Eric Gordon sucks and I am a huge IU fan. He has NO chance to play in the NBA. Maybe the WNBA. He shoots too much and turns the ball over entirley too much and he isnt even close to being the best player on the team. Crawford is a freshamn and is alot better.
