01:46 PM ET 01.06 | We have yet another NBA trade that has gone down, or is in the final stages of doing so, but it's not the one you've been waiting for. While the Cleveland Cavaliers are mulling three offers for Andrew Bynum, the Boston Celtics have managed to flip Courtney Lee to another team and acquire a nice addition to their roster. Yesterday ESPN's Marc Stein reported that the Celtics were in advanced talks with the Memphis Grizzlies to swap Lee for Jerryd Bayless and this morning comes a report that all the two sides need is a thumbs up from the NBA later this afternoon. Bayless isn't s superstar addition for the Celtics but he's a solid option that the team can use both in place of the rehabbing Rajon Rondo for the moment and as a scoring option beside him when Rondo returns. As for Lee, there was some surprise that the Celtics were able to move him, but they flipped him for an expiring contract. Boston will have to work out a deal with Bayless this summer to avoid having him be a half-season rental.

Slow day on here I guess? Anyway, good trade for the C's. I can't believe they found a taker for Lee.

Celtics are also getting Gomes from OKC. How does that work if the Thunder don't receive anything? Wait and see....

Bayless is a rental he won't be extended at all.

Salary dump is cool though.

Boston could resign him in the offseason, I think he can be our long term backup pg in the future

It was clear that Courtney Lee was becoming disenchanted with his role, so on that note, this is a good trade. You can't have that kind of dissension with a team that's trying to establish it's identity. While Jerryd Bayless is a solid pick up, I do recall him being notorious for making boneheaded plays, so I'm curious to see how this works out. As has been said... If nothing else, this trade will ultimately provide cap space that definitely helps.
