Angels neutralize K-Rod loss
The sting of an arbitration loss and the potential backlash it could produce may have been eased by the man who delivered the news to Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez on Friday. General Manager Tony Reagins pulled Rodriguez off the field during a morning workout to inform him the team had defeated the reliever in arbitration, meaning Rodriguez will receive $10 million this season rather than the $12.5 million he asked for. There were no hard feelings on either side, and the relationship between Reagins and Rodriguez may have been a factor.

Hopefully K-Rod has a good year for us... And maybe get a long-term deal done... If not... We can ship him off... Maybe pick up a 3rd baseman with a stick... Our organization is deep in pitching... We can definitely pick up the slack

Can you imagine that a baseball GM has to console a grown man for making only $10 million to pitch one inning per game?

That 9th or 8th inning is the difference between a win or a loss. Remember guys like Troy Percival and Eric Gagne? Those guys saved 40 plus games but eventually wore down.

He certainly throws with his legs, but he is funky, and may ware down, good move by the angels. But $ 10 mil ain't so bad, but it appears that this man has a hugh ego. What's $ 2.5 mil between friends?
