07:36 AM ET 01.07 | At the very least, Jim McElwain's boss sees him returning to Fort Collins. While [McElwain's] name gets tossed around as a candidate for the Louisville job, athletic director Jack Graham said Monday he's convinced the CSU football coach will make good on the long-term commitment he gave the school when he was hired two years ago. "I'm very comfortable that Mac is committed to Colorado State, and we're committed to him," Graham said. "He wants to be here for the long run, and we want him here for the long run. His commitment to us, and our commitment to him, is a great formula for long-term success for the program." Graham said no other schools have asked for permission to talk to his football coach. But McElwain's name has been mentioned in several media reports as a candidate to replace Charlie Strong.

Very good coach. Coach McElwain will do what is honorable, I am absolutely positive about that.

He gone. If not this year, then soon.

No amount of money would get me to from Ft. Collins to Louisville.

You people are crazy. CSU has nothing to offer. Charlie Strong was paid in the top 10 of all head coaches while Louisville and they are joining the ACC. If offered the job he's gone and who can blame him.

I would think revitalizing a losing program like CSU would be that step.

CSU is a stepping stone job. There is no coach in the country that looks at that job in the long term. The football program has no history and no sustained success and plays in a lousy conference. CSU is never going to compete on a national level and coaches that take that job no that going in. If they want to compete they need to move on.

I would echo that...spent time in both towns, no comparison IMO....

Who the hell is this guy?

CSU's coach, it's called reading, try it some time: top to bottom, left to right, letters make words, words make sentences, spaces tell you when new words start and dots and big letters tell you when sentences stop and new ones start....
