07:34 AM ET 01.08 | Consider New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith on notice. The NBA warned [Smith] about the shoelace stunt he pulled on Dallas' Shawn Marion on Sunday, a league source confirmed Tuesday. Smith untied Marion's shoelaces during the second quarter of the Knicks' 92-80 win over the Mavericks. The NBA issued a warning, which was first reported by the Bergen Record and the New York Post. Mike Woodson said he planned to speak with his shooting guard before the team faced the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. "He shouldn't be doing stuff like that," the coach said. "I'm going to talk to him a little more about it when I get in there. His focus should just be on playing basketball. That's what it's about and those are things you just don't do. You think you've seen it all and something creeps in."

Thankfully we live in the Youtube age.

IMO....
The NBA should have stiffer penalties for 'offenses' committed by guys that have been previously suspended or drugs
Granted this isn't a heinous crime.....
But it is bad for the integrity of the sport

The league office seems to favor Knicks and I'm a Knicks fan. I thought he'd get suspended a few games without pay. These antics are so not good for the game...

JR seems to like making it obvious that he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

JR's a punk, but I blame Mike "the doormat" Woodson for letting his players lose focus on the team's mission...as the old adage goes, spare the rod, spoil the child. In Cleveland Lebron walked all over woodson. In LA Kobe and Pau had a different set of rules...

You have the wrong Mike. Mike Brown was Cleveland and LA

Exactly....the guy is an idiot ....but unfortunatly not tradable

why isn't he tradable ?
he's only making 5-6 mil

- you might have to take back a bad contract, but so what.
its not like NY has never done that :)
just getting him out of there would be a plus.

Woody has gone out of his way to run static for JR.....the game last saturday against houston, where the knicks were tied with 19 seconds left and Chandler got them an offensive board...he kicked it to Beno, who slung it to JR at the top of the key with 19 seconds left , who proceeds to brick the 3....Woody blamed Beno, a friggan pg for moving the ball...they both need to go

its just crazy-

there are ZERO consequences for this guy-
I really don't get it.

maybe jr is their hook up for drugs and women ?

QUOTE(#17):

they still have to wait until 1/15.....who would want him at this point.....his game is gone, but the headaches remain......I cant think of any player other than Bynam, that any team would want to get rid of that badly this season to be willing to take on JR

don't use logic and non-emotional reasoning to thwart my posts...
