07:35 AM ET 01.08 | Oft-injured center Andrew Bynum may wind up as the NBA property of yet another new team soon enough. Bynum missed all of last year (in Philadelphia) with multiple injuries to both knees, and his inability to stay healthy has been a hallmark of his tumultuous tenure in the NBA. He had played 24 games this season. But even with that recent history Bynum still is expected to draw interest around the league -- that's one of the benefits of being a 7-foot former All-Star. Bynum, league sources confirm, wants to play for a contender, and his preference is the Heat. He would also be open to a return to Los Angeles, though with the Clippers, not the Lakers. The Clippers waived swingman Stephen Jackson [Tuesday], so they have an open roster spot.

Don't Go To LA, Bro.

Who would the Heat drop in favor of Bynum? Oden?

January 8, 2014  08:42 AM ET

Bynum wants to go win a title in Miami like Eddy did.

How many articles are needed for a guy who hasn't played in what seems like 2 years?

January 8, 2014  08:47 AM ET

Don't know what his recent situation was about but when healthy and focus also in the proper condition and shape this guy was an NBA All-star starter. Playing in the Lakers system he flourished and complemented perfectly. Maybe he needs a "Kobe" like personalty to motivate him or just need a more positive situation to play in. I don't see the Heat picking him up because Oden is there, he would look good in Denver or Portland once he's in the right frame of mind.

He deserves only the best.......
His actions clearly warrant a contender to pick him up

Wow image that. Bynum only wants to play for a contender. I hope no team signs this bum.

I'm a Blazer fan. I don't want to see him any where near a Blazer jersey. The only thing Bynum can do for any team is wreak the team's chemistry.

Jackson was released for a reason. Bynum will be a Clipper. He loves the Hollywood night life and the Playboy parties...

Go To Boston, Bro.

Yeah it is pretty sad that a player can milk teams for millions, get cut for being a bum then put his wish list of championship contenders out there.

Clippers will sign Bynum (even though Jackson has the heart Andrew lacks) and play alongside CP3 and Melo. Just to see the Heat threepeat or Spurs win their fifth trophy...

As much fun as it is to goof around on a guy like Bynum. The fact is that if any team like Miami or the Clippers pick him up and keep him focused for the playoffs he could be a huge factor. He's got a bad attitude but he is very talented and could be the missing piece for somebody's playoff run.

January 8, 2014  09:54 AM ET

Saw this a mile away. He'll be member of the Heat the moment he clears waivers.

January 8, 2014  09:54 AM ET

The only way I would sign this clown would be if I could pay him by the game and just be rid of him when he inevitably does something stupid.

* and what makes it more disgusting is all of that stuff is out there.
its not like some team is going to be blindsided by all that.....

it really is an embarassment for the league

They might get rid of Joel Anthony before Always Injured Oden but ya never know.

Bynum will be on a contender shortly. Every real contender could use a big body just for 6 fouls and even some defense. I think these are the teams that will give him a look

1. Clippers
2. OKC
3. SA
4. Portland

January 8, 2014  10:28 AM ET

I think portland is real happy with their non-borke lopez
also- why bring in a guy that could disrupt their chemistry?

I'd scratch portland off that list.

January 8, 2014  10:34 AM ET

It's a shame a lazy bum like Bynum will get another chance in the league. He doesn't deserve that.

I think he will help any contending team. He has the low post presence at both ends of the court and he is actually playing now. I don't know if he is injured again but the last time I know is that he was playing... I think the Clippers will get him. They have nothing to lose. He'll just be getting the minimum unless those other teams are bidding for his service. The only problem w/ Bynum would be on the pick and roll defense. He will get torched!
