07:42 AM ET 01.08 | What a difference a few winter weeks makes in Lexington. While coach John Calipari's rigorous "Camp Cal" was intended to fine-tune the team with two-a-day practices, the long holiday break from classes -- and classmates, who've been gone from campus -- might've been more important because it gave the players a chance to actually become a team. "I mean, we all liked each other before, but now I think we're closer," point guard Andrew Harrison said. "We all talk and laugh like we didn't do before, so I think it was very helpful. We just started to talk more. We really had no choice. We really had no one to talk to besides each other." Calipari said that element shouldn't be underestimated. Every good team he's had, especially the 2012 national championship squad, eventually clicked off the court.

"Act more like a team" = "share your brownbag monies with everybody, at least a little bit"
