07:29 AM ET 01.09 | When it comes to recruiting, little should surprise. Four-star Longview defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson decommitted from Texas on Wednesday afternoon only to recommit after speaking to new head coach Charlie Strong. Longview head coach John King confirmed that Henderson had a change of heart and was sticking with the Longhorns. "He's going to Texas," King told ESPN.com. ... "We had a long talk about it. He was a little bit torn, but I just told him Texas is the best place for him and to stick with it. He will." But about an hour later, Henderson caused another stir by flipping from Texas to Texas A&M. Talk about a punch in the gut. This isn't the first time Henderson switches his commitment. The 6-foot-1, 318-pound Semper Fidelis All-American originally committed to TCU in February.

Is his first name Gunnar?

January 9, 2014  08:39 AM ET

Strong hasn't learned how to work the bagmen at Texas yet.

I think the last name of Henderson is the issue, remember Seantrel and all his antics?

One would hope kids have these "change of hearts" due to the coaching turnover which would be understandable.

But, two of the three mentioned in this group don't have new coaches so this kid doesn't understand committing to a decision or is enjoying all the attention and playing it for all it is worth.

Set a record for schools in one day at 3 with along with 3 commits an 3 decommits....and when asked what made his mind up he said "their defense is not very good so I know I will get to start right away". Solid thought process and the poor kid has never once set foot on campus. Strange deal.

If he wanted sure playing time, he should go to Tech.

He'll probably commit to Baylor by Sunday. Then OU, then OSU....

January 9, 2014  10:23 AM ET

Sounds to me that we lost nothing with his original de-commit.

We are checking a couple of Davis kids, luckily, Henderson isn't one of them.

Henderson is widely considered the best DT in the state this year. But it is a down year for sure and he is a flake no doubt. I for one would not let my kid commit to a school without ever having been on campus and definitely not if he hasn't been to collieville.

TCU -> (Tx -> Tech ->[ Tx -> Aggy]**)*

* quotes reference yesterdays activity

** references a one hour period yesterday

and yes he was a big fan of Bo Davis who you just hired which is why he flaked out. Was set to enroll on Monday as a EE

Recruiting is always crazy but the time between the BCS CG and signing day is crazy on steroids.

Well ... now we've had 3 DT's decommit although 1 was not going to qualify anyway. This, coupled with a big whiff last year at the DT position puts us in a bind. Strong needs to get out there and find us some DT's quickly!
