01:01 PM ET 01.09 | The trailer suggests that it's a step above a Disney movie, such as Million Dollar Arm, but the R-rating suggests otherwise. While lots of NFL fans would like to see an adult-focused NFL Draft movie that deals with the behind-the-scenes action of one of the biggest days on the football calendar, the rating has been changed after an appeal from Lionsgate and Ivan Reitman. Lionsgate, the studio behind the film, challenged the rating and won its appeal to get it lowered to a box-office friendly PG-13 rating. Unlike other instances where cuts are made to the film to lower the rating, no cuts were made in this film. So we will still be seeing the supposed 'R' version of Draft Day when it hits theaters, which suggests that Reitman maybe doesn't pull punches and has crafted an NFL Draft movie that isn't just a commercial for the NFL.

Really???

January 9, 2014  01:17 PM ET

So, there won't be a post draft "make it rain" scene?

Lionsgate. Perfect name for a fiasco in the making.

Only if Pacman can make a cameo

Who's going to play Goodell, or will they just have a big d/*/ck come out on the stage. Same thing.

The only thing more boring than draft day is a movie about draft day.

January 9, 2014  02:25 PM ET

A movie about the draft? Isn't a movie plot supposed to be about something interesting?

Up next, the drama, the excitement, the danger of setting up the studio: ESPN Gameday, the Movie.

Don't tell me they edited all the women beating, gun toting, knife wielding, coke snorting, steroid shooting athletes out of this movie! What's it down to now? A 5 minute flick?

As long as Ivan Reitman is behind this, it gets the benefit of the doubt for me. The man makes some damn funny movies.

The article says there were no edits. They just appealed and won.

That's what happens when you're used to picking in the 20s.

I love all things NFL and the draft is a glimmer of hope when the Superbowl is done. However, I really can't imagine making a move about it.

Don't forget to include the FBI guys trolling for future felons!!

Wonder if they'll make references to stuff like when Michael Crabtree had his idiot cousin doing contract negotiations. I'm a Niner fan, but I gotta admit that was pretty bad.

I have absolutely no interest in seeing this movie. However...

How would an R-rating suggest otherwise? I'd rather sit through an R rated movie than a PG movie any day.

Only if they didn't fix that hole in the wall of the cheerleaders locker that I made, I mean...found.
