07:32 AM ET 01.10 | In a way, Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich is getting Bobby Petrino 2.0. "If it was the same Bobby that was here 10 years [ago], I wasn't interested," said Jurich, adding that he kept coming back to Petrino as he went through a list of seven finalists. "He is definitely a changed person." Critics have nonetheless remained skeptical about Petrino's level of commitment, citing the fact that he's left three programs in eight years. ... Asked how he would quell skepticism, Petrino said, "The thing you do is just show [it]. I have a sign in the locker room that says it's a 'show-me' world. "I made mistakes, both professionally and personally," he added. "That's something I'm not going to do again. ... My first mistake was leaving here."

No Bobby that was not your first mistake and it is not likely to be your last. Your first one was choosing your motorcycle rider.

I hope he succeeds, both in his personel life, and in his profession. Redemption is good for all of us.

He's lied so much he'd probably be better off if he didn't say anything. Everyone is going to give him the "blah, blah, blah" treatment because of his past lies. So, even when he tells the truth, no one will hear it...ala a couple of children's stories...The Shepherd Boy (little boy that cried wolf) and Chicken Little.

Totally agree. We all have regrets for past actions at some level, and as much as I make fun of the guy and his past, I hope he is able to succeed.

I guess he did sell his motorcycle after all.

Prove it, Bobby. The Louisville people have shown that they are good people by giving you a 2nd chance. Stay at Louisville for the rest of your career and do a good job. That will be the best thanks they could ever have.

How true. Best he shut-up and let his actions speak for him. We all can sit around and pontificate about what a general jackass he is/was. Just remember, a LOT of people had to buy off on this. (President of the College, Alumni w/$$, and so forth) So if it goes south, the poopy scatter will range far.

Is it just me or did his nose just grow about a foot?

Still lying to himself it seems.

Nah, his mistake was not taking that defensive driving course.

He couldn't take the reacharound and still keep the bike on the road. Do they teach that in defensive driving....?
