Lawrence North High School junior Jeff Robinson said his father told him to look beyond just the coaches when making a college choice. Because Robinson's father, also named Jeff Robinson, played major college basketball, Jeff Jr. used his dad's advice before deciding to make an oral commitment to Purdue. A 6-9 forward, Robinson is averaging 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for the Wildcats, who will take a 17-5 record into next week's sectional semifinals. He becomes the third recruit in coach Matt Painter's class of 2009, joining 6-5 Kelsey Barlow of Cathedral and 6-5 D.J. Byrd of North Montgomery.

I like this Matt Painter guy, he should get coach of the year.

What's the big deal about a guy who averages 6.6pts, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for a team that is 17-5?

Has this kid ever been to West Lafayette? He'd better have a lot of PSP games to while away the boredom from one of the most boring places on earth.

The Purdue nickname is an apt one. If I were stuck in West Lafayette, I'd be drinking Boilermakers all the time.

Painter will take this team farther than Gene Keady did. That's not a knock on the Great Combover; Painter's just a great coach.

He probably wouldn't get any P.T. at IU anyways with those stats. Indiana always gets the best guys in Indiana and Purdue gets the scrubs.

This crap with kids committing so early to teams has gotten out of hand and the NCAA needs to step up and put a stop to it
