09:02 AM ET 01.12 | There is nothing Erik Spoelstra has praised more passionately this season that Chris Bosh's defense -- "Chris is an elite defender and is proving it every single night" -- and consider this: No starting center in the league allows fewer points per possession against the player he's guarding (factoring in shots and turnovers) than Bosh. Opponents are shooting 37.7 percent against Bosh, lower than against Dwight Howard (38.3) and Joakim Noah (39.9), according to synergysports.com.

Hopefully he can continue that trend against Hibbert in the playoffs.

Bosh has come a long way defensively since he got to Miami. His defense used to be one of his big weaknesses in toronto, now he's gotten pretty good and hustles on defense now. Good for him

Thanks a lot man! I'm getting ready to head down to the stadium shortly. I hope they win but it won't be easy, sf is a very good football team and is very well coached. I like our chances. Let's hope it goes better than the last playoff game I went to. I'm still sore over that oz style prison raping the cardinals gave us in '08.

Ouch, lol.

If nothing else make sure you have fun!

miami as a team plays great team/help defense,
also, there is only one center in the east (besides bostrich) that averages more than 15 points that isn't hurt and actually playing so its not like he really has to guard anyone that can score

Agreed, however, he is not relied upon offensively anymore, so it is easier for him to focus his energy at the other end. He is 3rd fiddle in the offensive end.

Stats Can Be Misleading, Bro.

I wish Bosh would go down to the low post and try to score down there and not jack up so many jump shots. But he's got two championships. So he must be doing something right.

Finally Bosh has grown a pair.... for how long who knows.

he needed to

Bosh isn't a center. He's given optimal match-ups this season to help get Greg Oden into the fray to defend big centers in the hope he can at least limit Roy Hibberts impact when they meet in the playoffs.
Can't take too much away from Bosh here though. He wasn't much of a defender in Toronto and it's good to see him play his way into a team rather then on one.
